Age Group: 5 - 8
Name of Work: ME
Artist: Akeela Valdes

These are all the places that became a part of me. The most special places and people are on my chest.

Age Group: 9 - 12
Name of Work: Faces of Places
Artist: Jacob Newman

Look closely and you will see four different depictions of me. Hidden in plain sight, among the places of my delight.

Age Group: 13 - 18
Name of Work: Global Updo
Artist: Helen Reynolds

This is a self portrait illustrating how my experiences around the globe are embedded within me and how they fundamentally affect the way I look at the world and my curiosity about my surroundings

Age Group: 5 - 8
Name of Work: Tree
Artist: Ohlsson Skaret

Trees are everywhere. At my house and here in Colombia.

Age Group: 9 - 12
Name of Work: The World Is My Fountain
Artist: Francie Silva

Everybody has roots. My roots are not just from one place, but they are from all the different places and landscapes I have experienced. I feel like a tree with strong roots and big branches, that reach out to the whole world!

Age Group: 13 - 18
Name of Work: My Favorite Places Are Always With Me
Artist: Cora Deninger

I drew about my favorite places and drew some things that mean a lot to me from those places. Drawing this made me remember a lot of my past and helped me reflect on my travels.

Age Group: 5 - 8
Name of Work: Luggage Labels
Artist: Lydia Bitner

We collect magnets everywhere we go. I used the magnets to give me ideas for the stickers on my luggage art.

Age Group: 9 - 12
Name of Work: New Doors, New Adventures
Artist: Sophia Bitner

Each door I’ve opened in life has been filled with adventures that have become a part of me. Those doors will always be open. I look forward to the adventures waiting behind the next door

Age Group: 13 - 18
Name of Work: Stiched Into Me (Tie)
Artist: Divine Grimes

My artwork reflects that everywhere I go, pieces of that place become a part of me, stitched into my memory.

Age Group: 13 - 18
Name of Work: Mind Map (Tie)
Artist: Camryn Carswell

The base is made of maps of places I’ve lived, the translucent photo portrait symbolizes how all the places on the maps become a part of my make-up. Each country is represented by small picture of something that was very important to me. In Denmark I rode my bike everyday. In Switzerland I learned to ski and hiked in the Alps. In Bulgaria I raised money to help stray dogs and adopted a street dog; and now in Germany I play tennis on a German tennis team. The rough, bumpy surface symbolizes that the road to each move is not always smooth, but always interesting.
