Custodian Share Account
A Custodian Share Account is established by an adult, typically a family member, for the benefit of a minor. The minor must qualify for membership based on a family relationship. Please refer to our membership eligibility page for more information. The custodian is not required to be in our field of membership.

There are no monthly service charges and you will receive quarterly statements with detailed transaction and dividend information for accurate records. Funds can be deposited or withdrawn at the custodian's discretion subject to the Virginia Uniform Transfers and Minor's Act. Please read our account disclosures for more information.

Parents, grandparents, godparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, and others can open Custodian Share Accounts for loved ones. By starting a custodian account now, you can begin to save money to offset future expenses such as college.

For more information, please contact our Member Service Center at 703-706-5000 or
800-296-8882 outside the D.C. Metro Area.
